Cayo Costa 3 Day Exploration - Beautiful Tropical Adventure!

Join the Tampa Adventure Group for this chance to camp out in tents and explore on one of Americas Top Beaches and Florida's most beautiful secret jewel - Island Cayo Costa.

TAG Difficulty Rating: 4 of 10 Easy/Moderate (tent sites, no electricity, 1 hour long boat rides, lots of sun!)

Background Information:
With nine miles of beautiful beaches and acres of pine forests, oak-palm hammocks, and mangrove swamps, this barrier island park is a Gulf Coast paradise. The park is accessible only by private boat or ferry. Visitors may see manatees and pods of dolphins in the waters around the park, as well as a spectacular assortment of over 100 types of birds. On the island, visitors can swim or snorkel in the surf, enjoy the sun, and picnic in the shade. Shelling is especially good during the winter months. Nature trails provide opportunities for hiking and off-road bicycling. Saltwater anglers can fish from their boats or throw a line out into the surf.

Don't forget your fishing pole and license. That was one of my favorite parts of the weekend last year. Luke- where are you located?

Luke, We usually all meet at like the Hard Rock Casino early around 6AM and then those who want to carpool can join with others. They allow us to park in the south garage for free, and they have security. As for food we bring all kind of things, there is a small shop on the island that sells ice so you can bring perishables if you need to in coolers. There are grills as well. Bring regular camp food :-)
