We will be preparing New England Clam Chowder, Pan Seared Scallops with Vanilla Cream Sauce, Angel Hair Pasta, and Sugar Snap Peas.

New England Clam Chowder
New England clam chowder is a milk- or cream-based chowder, traditionally made with potatoes, onion, bacon or salt pork, flour or hardtack, and clams. Adding tomatoes to clam chowder was shunned, to the point that a 1939 bill making tomatoes in clam chowder illegal was introduced in the Maine legislature.[3] It is occasionally referred to as Boston Clam Chowder in the Midwest.

Pan Seared Scallops with Vanilla Cream Sauce
There are few main courses as elegant and yet as simple as a dish of seared sea scallops. Sweet, tender, mild, and delectable—the less you fuss with scallops, the better they taste. The best way I’ve found to cook plump, meaty scallops is to sear them quickly in a hot pan so that the outsides get a lovely crisp, brown crust and the insides remains tender and creamy.

Angel Hair Pasta and Sugar Snap Peas
Capellini (literally "thin hair") is a very thin variety of Italian pasta. Like spaghetti, it is rod-shaped, in the form of long strands, and thinner than vermicelli.

Capelli d'angelo literally angel hair) is an even thinner variant of capellini.
